Helping riders find their way back to confidence, connection and the joy of riding.

You haven't forgotten how to ride, but somewhere along the way, riding may have stopped feeling the way it once did.

Perhaps you've had a fall or frightening experience.

Maybe nerves have crept into competition.

You ride beautifully at home but struggle to reproduce it when it matters.

Or perhaps you can't point to one particular moment - you simply know that fear, self-doubt or pressure have started taking up too much space.

When knowing isn't enough

You know you're capable of more. But knowing that doesn't always seem to change how you feel.

You consciously want to feel confident, capable and successful but still find yourself thinking, feeling or reacting in ways take you in the opposite direction.

That's because confidence isn't built through conscious thought alone. Over time, experiences, fears and repeated patterns can reinforce deeper beliefs about who we are and what we're capable of.

You might know you're a competent rider, yet find yourself doubting your ability.

You might desperately want to succeed, yet fall apart when the pressure is on.

You might tell yourself to relax, yet feel yourself tense the moment something goes wrong.

Simply knowing what you should think or feel doesn't necessarily change what's happening underneath.

That's why Ride with Heart works from inside out.

I had tried many different therapies but nothing had stuck. I am a showjumper competing in the open classes but throughout my career, I have faced periods of low confidence, self-doubt and high anxiety, especially in the warm-up arena, which had a massive impact on my rounds in the ring. You can try logic and rationalization, and on occasionally these work short-term - but I wanted a long-term solution. Ashleigh uses various techniques including RTT & hypnotherapy which addresses the underlying root cause of issues we are not consciously aware of, I was also given tools, some of which I use daily, and others as and when I need them to train my mind. It really is a worthwhile and effective journey. I am very happy with my results.

The Ride with Heart Approach

The Method

The Signature
Programme

What It Means To Ride with Heart

Change from the inside out. A personalised approach that works with subconscious beliefs, conscious skills and real riding experiences to create change that lasts.

A personalised six-week experience for riders ready to rebuild confidence and connection — combining RTT, equestrian expertise and practical mental skills.

Riding with heart isn't about becoming fearless or perfect. It's about developing the self-trust to meet challenge, stay connected to your horse and keep moving forward when things get messy.

The Ride with Heart Method

Lasting change happens when the beliefs underneath our responses support where we consciously want to go, and then we develop the skills and habits to reinforce that change in the real world.

The RWH Method moves through 4 main pillars

1. UNDERSTAND

Understand the pattern.

We begin by making sense of what's happening now — the experiences that have shaken your confidence, your triggers, your thoughts and emotional responses, and the rider you want to become.

2. ALIGN

Bring what's happening underneath into alignment with where you want to go.

Using RTT & hypnotherapy, we explore and work with deeper subconscious beliefs and patterns that may be pulling against your conscious goals.

3. REBUILD

Develop the skills to respond differently.

You'll learn practical tools for emotional regulation, self-talk, focus and visualisation — and how to approach your riding with curiosity and a growth mindset rather than fear of getting it wrong.

4. INTEGRATE

Turn change into who you are as a rider.

Through purposeful practice and real riding experiences, you'll begin reinforcing new patterns and building evidence of the rider you're becoming — with a personalised roadmap to help you continue growing long after our work together ends.

Old beliefs create old cycles. New beliefs need new experiences

What It Means To
Ride with Heart

Riding with heart isn't about becoming totally fearless. It's about learning to trust yourself when things don't go perfectly.

The Ride with Heart philosophy is that confidence isn't something you either have or you don't. It can be understood, influenced, rebuilt and made stronger.

Lasting change happens from the inside out - when the beliefs beneath our responses begin to align with the rider we consciously want to become, and new skills and experiences reinforce that change.

To ride with heart is to believe mistakes are part of learning. Progress can be messy. A difficult ride doesn't erase everything that came before it.

The best riding isn't created through forcing ourselves or our horses. It comes through awareness, softness, feel and the courage to keep learning.

Riding with heart means some of the most meaningful moments don't always appear on a results sheet. They often happen quietly...

When you soften and your horse softens with you.
When fear is present, but you ride anyway.
When you make a mistake and don't turn against yourself.
When uncertainty gives way to trust.
When you stop trying to prove something and simply ride with joy.

Ride with Heart Signature Programme

Private Coaching + RTT Hypnotherapy with Ashleigh Tabor

A personalised six-week experience combining equestrian expertise, RTT, hypnotherapy and practical mental skills to rebuild confidence from the inside out.

Over six weeks, we'll work together to understand your individual confidence story, address what's happening beneath the surface, develop practical mental and emotional skills and integrate those changes into the way you ride.

The goal is to help you understand your own mind, develop the skills to influence your responses and become increasingly resilient and capable in the difficult moments.

Is this for you?

The Programme is for riders who:

  • Have lost confidence following a fall or frightening experience.

  • Struggle with nerves, fear, pressure or self-doubt.

  • Ride well at home but struggle to reproduce that riding in competition.

  • Feel frustrated because they know they are capable of more.

  • Find themselves overthinking, comparing themselves with others or being afraid of making mistakes.

  • Want to develop greater emotional resilience and self-trust.

  • Want to feel more present and connected with their horse.

  • Want riding to feel enjoyable again.

Your Six-Week Journey

1. Confidence Deep Dive

UNDERSTAND

We begin with a comprehensive 60–75 minute conversation about you and your riding.

We'll explore:
• Your riding story and what has changed.
• Experiences that have affected your confidence.
• Your individual triggers.
• Your thoughts, emotions and physical responses.
• Patterns you have noticed in your riding.
• The strengths you already possess.
• How you want to feel, grow and develop as a rider.

After our session, I will create your personalised Confidence Map which creates a clear picture of where you are now and the rider you want to become.

2. Personalised RTT Hypnotherapy Session

ALIGN

Your two-hour RTT hypnotherapy session takes the work deeper.

Rather than simply working with what you consciously think is wrong, we explore the beliefs, meanings and associations that may be operating underneath your current responses.

We then work to bring those deeper beliefs into alignment with the rider you consciously want to become.

You'll receive your own personalised RTT recording to listen to following the session, helping you reinforce the work we have done together.

3. Skills Lab

REBUILD

Next, we begin building the conscious skills that allow you to respond differently in the saddle. Together we'll work through five key Ride with Heart processes:

• NOTICE — emotion is a gateway to awareness, rather than immediately trying to get rid of a feeling, become curious about what your mind is predicting,

• DIRECT — understand and reframe your self-talk and learn to direct your attention towards what you want to create.

• REGULATE — learn how to influence your emotional and physical state, help the body soften, settle and reconnect.

• REHEARSE — learn how to use visualisation effectively, including techniques for riders who find visualising difficult.

• PRACTICE — learn the Ride with Heart Messy Practice approach, where mistakes become part of growth rather than evidence that you're failing.

You'll leave with your personal practice plan to begin applying these skills in the saddle.

4. Integration & Roadmap Session

INTEGRATE

This is where we bring everything together.

We'll look at where you started, what has changed over the last 6 weeks, what still feels challenging and which tools work best for you. Then, together, we'll build your personalised Ride with Heart Roadmap.

Your Roadmap includes:

• The Rider I Am Becoming — how you want to feel, grow and develop.
• Your Confidence Ladder — progressive steps for continuing to grow.
• Your Pre-Ride Routine — your individual process for preparing mentally and emotionally.
• Your Riding Focus — learning to focus on the things you can influence.
• Your Mental Skills Toolbox — knowing which tools to reach for and when.
• Your Post-Ride Reflection — learning from rides rather than simply judging them as good or bad.
• Your Evidence of Change — recognising and recording evidence of your growth.
• Your Setback Recovery Plan — knowing what to do if confidence gets shaken again.

Throughout the six weeks, you'll also have light WhatsApp or email support from me for brief questions, encouragement and guidance as you put what you're learning into practice.

“Ash gave me practical tools through her videos and voice notes that completely changed the way I approached riding. She taught me how to breathe, stay present and focus on what I could control. Instead of worrying about everyone else in the warm-up arena, I learnt to stay in my own space and ride my own plan. In the competition ring, I became much calmer, focused on rhythm and connection with my horse, and was able to enjoy riding again.”

Sarah Loubsher — Showjumper

What changes?

From confusion to understanding:
I understand what's happening to me.

From internal conflict to alignment:
What's happening underneath is beginning to support where I consciously want to go.

From reacting to responding:
I know how to influence my thoughts, focus and emotional state.

From perfection to growth:
A mistake doesn't define me. I can learn, adjust and continue.

From fragile confidence to resilience:
A difficult ride doesn't erase my progress. I know how to find my way back.

From confusion to self-trust:
I know myself. I have the tools. I trust my ability to respond when things don't go to plan.

By the end of our six weeks together, my aim isn't simply for you to feel more confident.

It's for you to understand your confidence in a completely different way - to recognise the patterns that affect it, address the deeper beliefs underneath those patterns, know how to influence your thoughts and emotional state, and have a personalised system you can continue using as you and your horse grow together.

Confidence isn't knowing that nothing will go wrong. It's trusting that when something does, you'll know how to respond.

“Every time my horse took a step wrong, I would crumble and go into fetal position. I couldn't canter without worrying that my horse would bolt and I would die. After working with Ash, my instant fear reaction has almost completely disappeared. I no longer look for ghosts, and can very quickly regain my focus if my horse genuinely gets a fright. If he puts a foot wrong, that moment of ‘I'm going to die’ is no longer there, and I carry on with the exercise at hand. Our improvement has been phenomenal so far!”

Helen Simon — Dressage Rider

Finding Your Way Back

Ride with Heart brings the pieces together. Your beliefs. Your thoughts. Your emotional responses. Your mental skills. Your riding experiences.

Instead of repeating the same patterns, we bring those elements into alignment, so they begin supporting the rider you want to become.

It is about more than getting your confidence back. It's about changing your relationship with confidence, so you can find your way back to the joy you felt that made you fall in love with riding in the first place.
